I am excited to announce that I will be teaching at Stratford Music Centre (Stratford-upon-Avon) from this September. The aims of Stratford Music Centre are to provide a quality professional service and to encourage students of all ages to learn, enjoy and appreciate different types of music, dance and drama. In this last year (2011/12) there have been approaching 400 students registered with the Centre. Full details of the 2012/13 programme are available on their website.
They have some exciting new groups for 2012/13. There are three new groups on Saturday mornings offering speech and drama sessions exploring all aspects of performance whilst giving the opportunity of working towards accredited qualifications from Trinity College of London.
The ABRSM is now offering group singing exams involving the preparation of a performance programme by a group of singers who can then enter for formal assessment together. There will be three sessions on Saturdays for differing age groups.
Saturdays also see the provision of new dance classes for Stage Dancing, where students can learn the dance skills required for musical theatre and drama productions.
