BIOGRAPHY
Mezzo-soprano Victoria is a graduate of the Royal Northern College of Music where she studied vocal and opera studies with Peter Alexander Wilson. Whilst at the RNCM, Victoria took various roles in opera scenes as well as performing in the chorus of productions including Le Nozze di Figaro (Mozart), Eugene Onegin (Tchaikovsky) and The Cunning Little Vixen (Janacek).
Gloucestershire-based Victoria began singing at the age of 10 when she joined The Cotswold Children's Choir. She was inspired to pursue singing by choral director Hilary Tadman-Robins, and began studying with Robin Martin-Oliver when she was 13. It was then that she had her first experience of opera - as a silent maid in Verdi's La Traviata.
Victoria went on to have singing lessons with Maria Jagusz and performed in many concerts and competitions including performances at Longborough Festival Opera. These included her first operatic roles of Bastienne; Bastien and Bastienne (Mozart) and Sorceress; Dido and Aeneas (Purcell) with youth company MJ-UK. Victoria was also lucky enough to perform two summer seasons alongside the professional chorus at Longborough Festival Opera in productions by touring company Opera Project.
Victoria is now studying with international mezzo-soprano Louise Winter. She recently performed Cosi fan Tutte (Mozart) in Italy with Shoestring Opera in the role of Dorabella and in 2012, she made her professional debut with Birmingham Opera Company under the direction of Graham Vick in the world premier of Jonathan Dove's 'Life is a Dream'.
